Miss World Canada has a lot of categories that the delegates get scored on. One category is raising money for the selected charity. This year’s charity is the Children’s Wish Foundation.

My favorite thing about being born and raised in Newfoundland is that we are known for our support and our kindness. When I heard about fundraising for the Children’s Wish Foundation, my first thought was to grant a wish. An average wish is $10 000, therefore that is what I set my fundraising goal to.

For anyone who doesn’t know, the Children’s Wish Foundation grants wishes to children facing life-threatening illnesses. Their wishes could be anything from going to a hockey game to going to Walt Disney World. I know firsthand how a sick family member can affect the whole family. By bringing joy and happiness to the child and the family it also brings memories that will last a lifetime and a much-needed distraction from the battle they are facing.

When I attended the Children’s Wish gala, Nights of Wonder, I got to meet one of the wish recipients. The smile on the little girl’s face was priceless. Her and her family was filled with joy as they got to go to Walt Disney World. This made me want to grant a wish even more.

Unfortunately, I only have until July to clue up my fundraising and I have not yet reached my $10 000 goal. If you would like to help me grant a wish, please click the link below. Any donations would be greatly appreciated.
