We all have something that we are deeply passionate about. For me, it’s women’s rights and women’s participation in politics. Choosing your pageant platform is, in my opinion, one of the most important things you will do as a delegate. Should you receive the title, your platform is what you will spend the next year as a titleholder working on.
I chose women’s rights because around the world today, women are underrepresented everywhere. We are often portrayed negatively in the media, girls around the world are denied education, and less than half of the CEOs and holders of public office in the world are women. The best way to improve the condition of women in the world is to have more women properly represented everywhere.
We can all do our part to advance women’s rights around the globe. We can volunteer for organizations that support the advancement of women’s rights, and we can all do our part to be better role models for the women and girls in our lives.
It can be hard to choose your pageant platform. But one thing you can do to help you decide is ask yourself the following questions:
- What am I most passionate about?
- What cause is really important to me?
- What can I do to help that cause?
Once you have answered the above questions, you can narrow it down to a select few options and choose the thing you care about most. There are so many choices out there, it’s just a matter of finding your passion and figuring out what you can do to help. After all, volunteering is food for the soul.
